I am a BACP accredited counsellor who has been practicing for some 18 years, privately and in the NHS. I have a wide range of experience working with people from different backgrounds and life experiences. I am based about five minutes away from Tooting Broadway tube station.
It can be helpful to be heard by another person who is experienced in understanding where the you are coming from. More so can be heard in a way that you can move on in a more fruitful way from where you are now.

I offer both short and long term counselling.
Most of the session is about talking about your life as you want to. You can reflect, with skilled intervention, in a confidential setting about what is going on for you now, and in a way that can enable change. This can be quite liberating. When you can learn, for instance, how to lessen the fear and unhelpful anxiety in your life by learning, maybe, how to become compassionate and kind towards yourselves, rather then give yourself a difficult time, you can find that they have more mental space to think and talk about your needs. There is much research as well as my own experience working with individuals to show that this can be very helpful. It means that it is easier to be able to work through your difficulties and make connections with your life experiences. Then your life can make more sense, and so you can learn how to enjoy your life more. We tend to ruminate and spend a lot of time thinking about "if only this had happened", and be unhelpfully anxious about what might happen in the future, rather than learning how to use that time to actually think about what can be done - you are where you are now!
You can find you can learn how to better express yourself, and so overcome such difficulties such as low self esteem, anxiety, depression, feelings of helplessness, stress, shame, guilt, and existential issues etc. You can learn skills to be able to change your unhelpful patterns. Feelings and emotions can as a result feel more comfortable. This includes painful feelings and pain itself.
You can learn that you can be in charge of pain, for instance, rather than pain controlling you. Sometimes many bodily symptoms and feelings which relate to our stress can be eased also (however, discussing these symptoms with your medical doctor is essential).

I charge £30 per session during the day, and £40 from 18.00
I do have some concessions for those who cannot afford these fees.
