Personal Training

The training is undertaken in the privacy of your home or, for outdoor work at a convenient location thus saving you time and travel. Sessions can even be done in a pool if this is considered the best way to train, eg following recovery from injury. Utilising innovative and traditional exercises/activities, you will keep motivated to achieve your goals and objectives.

Personal training is ideal to:

  • Increase stamina and fitness
  • lose weight, including dropping a clothes size for a special event, eg a wedding
  • Train for muscle tone, strength or definition
  • Kick start your training program if you have plateaued or have new goals

Specialism: Pre and post natal exercise

Pre and post natal exercise is an area where there are many misconceptions and half truths. I start at the beginning, to understand your exercise history, stage of pregnancy and whether there are any medical complications or concerns about the pregnancy. Then, an exercise program may be prescribed.

Of course, the exercise program will need to be modified on a regular basis in order to accommodate the changing demands of the body as the pregnancy progresses. Each exercise prescription must be different as each pregnancy is different although there are specific guidelines which do need to be adhered to according to each trimester.

The good news is that exercise can be continued and indeed should be encouraged. There is now evidence to show that exercise in pregnancy can help towards an easier labour, healthy birth weight for baby and a contented mum!

Post natal personal training

You now have your baby but maybe you are struggling to regain your figure, too tired to go to the gym or perhaps have just lost a little confidence.

I can help to get you back into shape and regain your fitness with personal training in the comfort of your own home.We can even build the program around baby (so no childcare issues!).
The time can be arranged around your routine.
